Join us for our Annual Hippity Hoppity Easter Event on Saturday April 8th from 11am - 2pm. 

Our Traditional Easter Egg hunt will start at 11:00am sharp in the Niven area (behind the main building). We will also be adding an Extreme Easter Egg Hunt this year for older kids that might like more of a challenge, starting at 12pm on the Big Hill. Kids must be registered for the Egg Hunts in order to participate. Registration is free and will open March 18th at 9am through EventBrite (link will be here). We ask that you sign up for either the Traditional Easter Egg Hunt or the Extreme Easter Egg Hunt, but not both. Space for the hunts is limited.

The egg hunt portion of this event is for members only.

Between 11am - 2pm we will also have drop-in activities not requiring registration, including Butterfield Acres Petting Zoo, 'Loose Parts Play' area with Creative Seeds, Spring Crafts inside the building, and a Seed Planting Station.  

Bonus: Find and scan the QR Codes on the Extreme Hunt to get clues to find the Golden Egg.

Registration for the Egg Hunts opens March 18th at 9am and is for members only.

Program includes certified instructors and all gear needed for recreational paddling. If you have your own equipment, please feel free to bring it. 

These courses are for members only, however a member may register one guest to attend the course with them.

Join the Aquabatics Calgary instructional team on an introduction to standup paddleboarding, also known as SUP.  The aim of this course is to introduce paddlers with good SUP flatwater skills to paddling on the slow rolling waters of Lake Bonavista.

Program includes certified instructors and all gear needed for recreational paddleboarding. If you have your own equipment, please feel free to bring it.

July 10 - 13, 2023

Beginner 6-7:30pm

Intermediate 7:30-9pm

Price: $135.00

Participants will establish a foundation and build on tennis skills. With a certified instructor, lessons will be catered to each participants individual skill levels to maximize the learning experience. Participants are asked to bring their own tennis racquets.

These lessons are for LBHA members only.

 Join the Aquabatics Calgary instructional team on an introduction to recreational kayaking for younger kids.  

The goal for this age group is to introduce participants to the fun, active lifestyle of playing in boats. The outcome is to generate enjoyment and appreciation for kayaking and the outdoors for all participants. Specific skill development is less of a focus than fun and safety, however, we would expect all kids will have good boat control and confidence in their kayaks by the end of the program.

Program includes certified instructors and all gear needed for recreational paddling. If you have your own, please feel free to bring it.

Kids Tennis Lessons at the Lake

Price: $90.00

Age 5 - 7, 9am - 10am

Age 8 - 11, 10am - 11am

In case of poor weather, a rainout reserve day is scheduled for the Friday of each week. Participants will establish a foundation and build on tennis skills. With a certified instructor, lessons will be catered to each participants individual skill levels to maximize the learning experience.

Participants are asked to bring their own tennis rackets if possible.

July 3 - 7, 2023 9am - 3pm

From friendship building to physical activity, your child will gain so much from attending our MultiSport Camp, run by Little Lemons Sports Inc. 

Our MultiSport Camp will develop your child’s athletic ability, while also demonstrating leadership, adventure, self discovery and fitness. Your children will be introduced to traditional and new sporting games to promote and develop their independence, self confidence, life skills and teamwork. 

Campers will work on developing techniques and learning the fundamentals of a range of specialized, age-appropriate drills and game-based play. Swim time in the lake will be included each day.

Age 5 - 8

Camps are for members only.

This camp is created and run by our friends at Little Lemons Sports Inc. 

July 10 - 14, 2023 9am -2pm

Join the Aquabatics Calgary Kayak team here at the Lake this Summer for our Youth Paddlesports Day Camp. Each day will be a little different and include kayaking, SUP Boarding, dryland games and more. 

During the five days we will have a ton of fun and be learning all about these paddlesports. 

A great way to start out in these great sports, and a fantastic way to spend warm summer days at the Lake.

Program includes certified instructors and all paddling/safety gear.

Age 10 plus (possible exceptions for younger kids, please contact office).

 Are you looking for an outdoor adventure this summer? Look no further! Our Outdoor Exploration Camp is the perfect way to explore the great outdoors! Here, campers will have the opportunity to build shelters, climb trees, play in mud kitchens, identify plants and track animals. This camp is the perfect introduction to the outdoor world through play-based activities. With each day designed to be fun and educational, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the environment and the amazing world around them.

 Nature Artists is a fun, creative summer camp for young people who love art and exploring nature. Campers will explore their natural surroundings, learning about the plants and animals that may inhabit the area. They will explore mediums such as watercolour, paint, clay and more while capturing the world around them. They will be able to express their creativity while learning about the environment, and they will take home unique mementos of their time spent at the camp. Nature Artists provides an enjoyable and memorable experience for all who attend.

•  Learn how to capture the beauty of nature in artwork - From sketching to painting, you can learn a variety of techniques to create beautiful artwork inspired by nature.
