Swimming & Beaches

 Swimming is open as soon as the water is warm enough in the Spring. It remains open through out the Summer. 


We have two beach areas: 


The North Beach sits beside the Boat Dock area. This beach area has:

  • One floating dock 
  • Boat docks and rentals
  • Boat launch
  • Picnic Tables
  • Beach Toy Library


The South Beach is located at the far end of the park. 

 Swimming is open as soon as the water is warm enough in the Spring. It remains open through out the Summer.

The South Beach is located at the far end of the park. It can be accessed easily through the Acadia gates during Swimming Season. This beach area has:

  • Two floating docks. 
  • Two large covered areas
  • Picnic tables and Briquette BBQs 
  • Washrooms and foot wash
  • Volleyball net on the beach
  • Beach Toy Library


A line of marker buoys indicate where the swimming areas are located.  No watercraft are permitted within the swimming area.

Water quality is tested weekly during swimming season. 


THE SWIMMING AREA IS NOT SUPERVISED  

Boating & SUPs

 The Boat Dock area is located on the north end of the park. Please familiarized yourself with the Boating Rules before renting.


Members can rent out boats and other watercraft for FREE.  


LBHA members can rent:

  • Row boats
  • Canoes
  • Kayaks
  • Stand Up Paddleboards
  • Pedal Boats


During the months of July and August, the Boat House is open beside the dock

 The Boat Dock area is located on the north end of the park. Please familiarized yourself with the Boating Rules before renting.


Members can rent out boats and other watercraft for FREE.  


LBHA members can rent:

  • Row boats
  • Canoes
  • Kayaks
  • Stand Up Paddleboards
  • Pedal Boats


During the months of July and August, the Boat House is open beside the docks for rentals. All other times, members can rent out boats at the North Guard House. 


To rent a boat:

  • You must be a member
  • You must be 16 years old or older, or be accompanied buy someone 16 years old or older. 
  • The member must be on the boat at all times.
  • For SUPS, the member can rent two SUPS at a time. 


Life jackets must be worn at all times while on any watercraft. 


Private watercraft is allowed at LBHA. Read our Guidelines here. 

Fishing

 LBHA holds a commercial fish license which allows members to fish at the lake. The lake is stocked twice a year (Spring and Fall) with mostly Rainbow Trout. We have also stocked Brown, Brook and Tiger Trout. 


Fishing will not be allowed southeast of an imaginary line drawn between the northwest corner of the Inn to the large rock in the

NO FISHING OFF THE BEACHES, WATERFALLS OR DOCKS AT ANY TIME.


At this time, households may keep two fish per month.


Fishing is restricted to the Park area or, in the case of lake shore lots, owners may fish from their own property.


Please remember:

  • No live bait allowed.
  • No fishing from pedal boats or kayaks belonging to LBHA
  • Only barbless hooks are to be used.
  • Fishing closes 15 minutes prior to the park closing. Anglers must report to the guard house before leaving the park.

 Our Tennis and Pickleball courts are located behind the main building, just inside the north gates.  The front three courts are strictly for tennis. The back three courts have pickleball lines painted on them, and can be used for tennis or pickleball.

The courts are constructed of laykold, a specially developed material which provides a superior playing surface. This material is expensive and is subject to damage when abused. 


Please remember:

  • Use of courts are limited to tennis/pickleball only 
  • Proper  tennis/pickleball shoes are required by players and spectators. 
  • Chairs or other hard objects shall not be placed on the court.
  • Maximum time court may be used, if others are waiting, is 45 minutes. 
  • Courts will be closed for maintenance or reserved for lessons at times as determined and posted. 
  • There must be one member playing on each court at all times. 

BBQs and Gatherings

BBQs and Gatherings

Members are welcome to sign in guests for special functions, such as BBQs, Beach Days, or Birthday Parties. 


LBHA has several BBQ areas in the park. We have BBQs that  take charcoal briquettes, which members must supply themselves. These BBQs are all located around the south beach area and are first come first serve.


Members can bring their

Members can bring their own table top propane BBQs as long as they keep them on a table or on the concrete areas. NO BBQs on the sand areas. 


All beach areas are first come first serve.   They can not be reserved. 


Only the Niven Area can be reserved for larger groups.

Many members and their guests enjoy walking in the park. We have a walking path that goes around the hill and beside the lake.  Many also enjoy hiking up the hill and in other areas of the park. Please feel free to explore and enjoy.

LBHA has outdoor exercise equipment located around the tennis courts. This equipment uses weight resistance. Instruction boards are located beside the equipment.  


BASKETBALL

We have basketball nets located on the pad outside the main building. Bring your own ball or borrow one from the North Guard Shack.  


STREET HOCKEY

On the same pad as the basketball, we have two nets net up for Street Hockey. Please bring your own sticks and balls. 


BEACH VOLLEYBALL

A big volleyball net is set up on the south beach for anyone to use. Bring your own ball or borrow one from the South Guard.  


PING PONG

Inside the main building, we have a Ping Pong Table. It's turned out to be one of most popular activities. Balls and Paddles supplied. 

Boating Rules & Guidelines

Please familiarized yourself with these rules before 

renting a watercraft from LBHA. 


  • No person under 16 shall be permitted on a watercraft unless accompanied by a person at least 16 years of age.  
  • Only members can sign out watercraft. Members wishing to sign out a watercraft must leave their membership card at the main gate or boat house. The member that signs out the watercraft must be in the boat at all times.  
  • Life jackets must be worn by all occupants of any watercraft  at all times. Failure to do so will result in a loss of lake privileges..  
  • All watercraft should immediately come ashore if potentially hazardous conditions arise such as lightning, dangerous winds or storm conditions.  
  • No watercraft shall be operated in a careless or dangerous manner.  
  • No watercraft shall be beached along the shoreline, except where indicated along south beach.  
  • Jumping and swimming from watercraft is strictly prohibited.  
  • Maximum of 2 hour time limit when signing out boats. Maximum 1 hour time limit for SUPs.   
  • All watercraft must be returned at least 30 minutes prior to closing.  
  • Watercraft or equipment that is damaged or unsafe must be returned to the boat house immediately.  
  • Should a watercraft capsize on the lake, the most important rule is STAY WITH THE BOAT until assistance arrives.  


A line of marker buoys will be established off both beach areas to define the restricted zones. No watercraft are permitted between the beach and marker buoys. 

Private Watercraft on the Lake

Privately owned boats and other watercraft may be used on the lake. 


  • Boats should not exceed 15 feet. 
  • No gas motors of any kind are permitted.  
  • All boats brought onto the lake property must be clean and may be inspected for fitness for use.  
  • Battery powered boats must use proper marine specification batteries so that submersion in event of capsize will not allow spillage into the lake.  
  • Privately owned boats should be secured by their owners to prevent unauthorized third party usage. Damage to private boats is the owners responsibility.  
  • No watercraft shall be beached along the shorelines.  
  • Lifejackets should be worn by all occupants of the boat at all times.  


A line of marker bouys will be established off both beach areas to define the restricted zones. No watercraft are permitted between the beach and marker bouys. These areas are for swimming only.
