The Lake Bonavista Dedication Program offers members a meaningful way to celebrate, honour, or remember someone special while contributing to the beauty and legacy of our community. Through the dedication of a bench or tree within the park, members can create a lasting tribute that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for years to come.
These thoughtful additions will enhance the character of Lake Bonavista while providing peaceful places to rest, reflect, and enjoy the surrounding landscape. Whether marking a milestone, expressing gratitude, or commemorating a loved one, a dedication offers a timeless way to leave a personal mark within a cherished community space.
Cost
The metal benches are black as shown and chosen both for its look and ability to withstand Calgary’s climate.
A 4” X 18″ bronze plaque contains your custom dedication message.
The price includes the cost of the bench, custom plaque, installation, maintenance, and administration costs.
Annual maintenance is completed to ensure benches and tables retain their beauty over time.
At the end of the 10-year term, you will be contacted to ask if you would like to renew your dedication bench or table. If you do not renew, the bench or table will become available for a new person to dedicate.

Our general manager will work directly with you to choose an appropriate location but cannot offer guarantees.
LBHA is not a Registered Charity and cannot provide a donation receipt.
Working with you to choose an appropriate location, a tree will be purchased and planted.

There is also the opportunity to purchase a boulder plaque to place near the tree.
The boulder and plaque can be purchased for an additional $4,000.00.

Placement
There are several existing dedication benches within the park. The first step is to find one that is in a desirable location and confirm that the location meets your wishes.
You can donate toward a bench if it does not have a dedication plaque presently or if a previous dedication has expired and the original donor chooses not to renew their location.
Brand new locations are available and can be discussed with the general manager.
Good candidates for replacement are old benches that are usually painted brown and are of simple construction. When a donor comes forward, a brand new bench or picnic table will be installed.
Please contact us to inquire about availability of the bench you wish to dedicate to begin the application process. Note that your donation towards a bench or tree does not constitute ownership or give you priority use.
