BOATING, BOATS & SUPS

Current Status - The Boathouse remains closed but rentals are available at North Gate Security

The Boat Docks area are located at the north end of the park. 

Please familiarized yourself with the Boating Rules before renting.


Members can rent out boats and other watercraft free of charge.  


Watercraft available for rent are:

  • Row boats
  • Canoes
  • Kayaks
  • Stand Up Paddleboards
  • Pedal Boats


During the months of July and August, the Boat House is open for rentals. During any other operational months, members can access rentals at the North/Main Gate Guard House. 


Rental Qualifications:

  • Renter must be a member!
  • Renter must be 14 years of age or older, OR be accompanied buy a person 14 years of age or older!
  • A member MUST be on the boat at all times!
  • One rental per member at a time. SUPs may be rented two at a time.
  • Life jackets must be worn while on any watercraft at all times!


Private watercraft are permitted. Please Read our Guidelines before bringing into the park!

GENERAL WATERCRAFT RULES & GUIDELINES

Please familiarize yourself with these rules 

prior to boarding any watercraft at the LBHA!


  • Persons under the age of 14 are prohibited from being on LBHA watercraft unless accompanied by a person 14 years of age or older!  
  • Only LBHA members are permitted to rent/sign out watercraft. 
  • Members wishing to sign out watercraft MUST leave their membership card with Boat House or Main Gate staff. 
  • The member that signs out the watercraft MUST be in the boat at all times!
  • Life jackets must be worn by ALL occupants while on any watercraft at all times! Failure to comply will result in a loss of lake privileges!
  • All watercraft MUST be immediately brought ashore if potentially hazardous conditions arise such as lightning, dangerous winds or other storm conditions.  
  • No watercraft shall be operated in a careless or dangerous manner!
  • No watercraft shall be beached along the shoreline except where indicated along the south beach.  
  • Jumping and swimming from watercraft is strictly prohibited!
  • Maximum 2 hour time limit when signing out boats. 
  • Maximum 1 hour time limit when signing out SUPs.   
  • All watercraft must be returned at least 30 minutes prior to closing!  
  • Watercraft or equipment that is damaged or unsafe must be returned to the boat house immediately!
  • Should a watercraft capsize, the most important rule is STAY WITH THE BOAT until assistance arrives!


Marker buoys will be established off beach areas to define restricted zones! No watercraft are permitted between beaches and markers! 

These are swimming areas only!

PRIVATE WATERCRAFT RULES & GUIDLINES

Privately owned boats and other watercraft are welcome on the lake but must abide by the following guidelines: 


  • Boats should not exceed 15 feet in length.
  • Gas motors of any kind are prohibited! 
  • All boats brought into the park must be clean and may be inspected for fitness.  
  • Battery powered boats must use proper marine specification batteries to prevent spillage into the lake in the event of submersion.  
  • Privately owned boats should be secured by their owners to prevent unauthorized third party usage. 
  • Damage to private boats is the owners responsibility!
  • No watercraft shall be beached along the shorelines! 
  • Life jackets must be worn by ALL occupants while on any watercraft at all times! Failure to comply will result in a loss of lake privileges!
